Our Journey

Snowstorms to Tropical Islands

  • The Kitchen on a Cold Night

    February 15 8:00PM, 2021

It was the great Winter storm of 2021, on a gloomy evening in the Bexar Hall kitchen. Ashley and her roommates were in the kitchen baking chocolate chip cookies. Jackson entered the kitchen and when he saw such a beautiful woman, he got scared and ran away. Ashley opened the door and yelled down the hall "Hey! We're just using the oven, you can use the stove!" Jackson gathered his roommates for reinforcements and returned with breakfast taco supplies. As they cooked, Jackson sat up in the window sill drinking a White Claw, and when he finished it, he threw it away, much to Ashley's amazement, he produced another one from his pants pocket. Contact information was exchanged and group chats were made with the promise to go sledding later that night.

  • Sledding... in Texas?

    February 16 3:00AM, 2021

Very late into the night, after 3 hours of snow, there was finally enough powder on the ground to make snowballs and sled down the hill without getting stuck. Of course, nobody owned a sled, so we used river tubes, trash can lids, and bellies to slide down the hill. Ashley was taking pictures in the snow and Jackson decided it would be cute if he pushed her down the hill, prompting a snowball fight. Romance and an inseparable friendship quickly bloomed!

  • Traveling Together

    2021 - 2024

After a month of friendship, we went camping on the river in Wimberly with the whole crew for Spring break. Our first solo trip was to the hills of Canyon Lake to celebrate Ashley's graduation from Texas State. We have enjoyed skiing on Mt. Spokane and drinking lots of coffee in Washington, getting tan and lit in Galveston, walking way too much in New York City, and almost getting struck by lightning on the beach in Florida.

  • Tropical Engagement

    January 9, 2025

Our next trip proved to be extremely special. We flew to St. Martin, got lectured by a crazy taxi driver, went to a beach bar called the "Dirty Sanchez," and had dinner at the most luxurious hotel on the island. Then our trip actually started. We boarded a large yacht with about 100 other people and set sail to explore the beauty of the Caribbean. We arrived in St. Lucia on the 5th day of our trip, exhausted and sunkissed, we left the yacht and boarded a small speedboat named The Hurricane. We skipped across the water, all the way to the other side of the island where two skyscraping mountains peaked out over the ocean. We took a taxi up endlessly winding roads to an outlooking restaurant hidden in the hills of the jungle where we enjoyed a delicious three-course sunset dinner. Afterwards, we decided to take some selfies with the scenic view, and as Jackson went in to take some close-ups of Ashley, he got down on one knee, and the rest is history.
